We aim to provide high quality care by working creatively
with our service users to reduce the impact of illness or
disability
on their lives.
We will:
· recognise people and
not just their disabilities
· provide individually tailored, responsive and
responsible
services
· strive for excellence in all that we do
TLC was formed in 1991 with the amalgamation of Triangle, Lockwood,
and Crossroads - three voluntary organisations based in Hackney.
Since then TLC has grown substantially. We still work in a holistic
way and provide person-centred services. Our specialisms still
include working people with dementia, working with people of
all ages who are living with disabilities, illness or frailty,
and supporting carers. We have also developed new expertise in
supporting people with learning disabilities and people with
mental health problems. We now provide training and consultancy
services, support groups for stroke survivors, and domiciliary
and respite care. Our care and support services are delivered
in a number of North East London boroughs from four office bases,
including two extra care housing projects.
The uniting factor for all our services is that they put the
person first, and aim to provide the specific support that will
enable each service user to maximise their potential. This means
that our services are often seen as flexible and innovative. |
“I came to this course with a very limited view about
caring for people with dementia and at the end of this module
I feel I have acquired vast knowledge and understanding”
